/JERRY POSEY, Director of Human Resources
A native of North Alabama, he entered the Army at 17, serving thirteen years as an enlisted soldier in communications with the 20th Special Forces Group. In 1990 he attended Officer Candidate School and received a hip pocket commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.
Jerry activated his commission in 1991, after serving in the first Gulf War. He transferred to the 279th Signal battalion and where he served in several different positions including Battalion Training Officer, Battle Captain, and Company Commander. He transferred to the 142nd Signal Brigade in 1999 where he served three years as the Human Resource Officer. He served three years as an Associate Professor of Military Science at The University of Alabama.
He retired in May of 2004 as a Major with 26 years of service. He joined the SMI team in September. He holds a Bachelors of Business Administration Management of Technology from Athens State University.
